Individual Schoenbrunn Packages…

Mozart and Strauss – world-famous celebrities of days gone by
The Schoenbrunn Palace Concerts´ repertoire includes numerous highlights (program changes daily). Since 1997, the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra and the Schoenbrunn Chamber Ensemble have been performing world-famous top hits by musical geniuses Mozart and Strauss, establishing themselves in Vienna´s cultural scene. The concert tradition at the Orangery of Schoenbrunn Palace dates back to the times of the Habsburg royalty, when concerts were performed there for the court nobility. Get the great and powerful vibes of times long past in this historic venue –  a unique experience!

Come to the Orangery and feel the spirit of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – perhaps Austria´s most famous classical composer – who inspired fellow Austrian pop artist Falco to his number-one hit song “Rock me Amadeus” back in the 1980s. Let Mozart take you back to the old times. Immerse in a Vienna of times long past with overtures, arias and duets from Mozart´s operas like “Le Nozze di Figaro” (The Marriage of Figaro), “Die Zauberfloete” (The Magic Flute), and “Don Giovanni”.

Back in the 19th century, famous “Waltz King” Johann Strauss toured not only Europe with his world-famous melodies. His tours even took him to the United States of America. Being in Vienna, Strauss´ “Donauwalzer” (The Blue Danube Waltz) is a tune you ought not miss since it is something like Vienna´s secret anthem. But there is much more to Strauss than the “Donauwalzer” (The Blue Danube Waltz). He composed numerous timeless waltzes, polkas and operettas like “Der Zigeunerbaron” (The Gypsy Baron), “Radetzkymarsch” (Radetzky March) and – above all – “Die Fledermaus” (The Bat), the perfect example of an operetta, which is performed in many operas around the world at New Year´s Eve.

The venue: the Schoenbrunn Orangery in Vienna

How often do you get the chance to enjoy such brilliant tunes in a truly original venue? The Orangery of Schoenbrunn Palace, the former palmery of the Habsburg Emperors, is the perfect venue to bring out the best of Mozart´s and Strauss´ unique melodies. Knowing perfectly well about the advantages of this magnificent venue, Emperor Joseph II often used the Orangery as a splendid setting for sumptuous festivities. During one of these festivities, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri competed in a musical contest, remarkably staged by Milos Forman in his movie “Amadeus”. Built in 1754, the spectacular surroundings of Schoenbrunn Orangery reflect the unique ambience of imperial style and amenities, taking you back into the magnificent times of the past.
