Schoenbrunn Palace
Ever wanted to know what the mirror was like, in front of which Empress Sisi had her hair done? Or how Emperor Franz Joseph used to sleep? Take a tour through the magnificent state and private rooms of Schoenbrunn Palace and see how the imperial court used to live, feel, think and act. Come to Schoenbrunn Palace and feel the presence of Emperor Franz Joseph and his Empress Sisi. A journey through the centuries is about to begin!
Imperial Palace: Imperial Apartments, Sisi Museum and Imperial Silver Collection
For more than 600 years, the Imperial Palace (Hofburg) was the main residence of the Habsburg family in Vienna. The Imperial Apartments are the former private rooms and state rooms of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth and offer a perfect opportunity to see how the Habsburgs used to spend their everyday lives. Affiliated to the Imperial Apartments is the Sisi Museum, which provides deep insight into the extraordinary and legendary personality of Empress Elisabeth – free from the usual clichés. And the imperial household´s high-end dinner services are on display in the Imperial Silver Collection. This is your chance to meet Sisi in a very personal way.
Imperial Furniture Collection
Enter the world of the „Sissi“ movies! (By the way: this museum houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to these movies!) The original Habsburg furniture used in the „Sissi“ movies was mostly borrowed from the Imperial Furniture Collection, which is the world´s largest furniture collection (160,000 objects) and offers a perfect chance to gain insight into the Habsburg family´s day-to-day life.
Dinner
Dine like Sisi once did! In the Café-Restaurant Residenz, a restaurant with a long-standing history. It is located in the former kitchen of Schoenbrunn Palace, in the “Ehrenhof”, a court next to the palace´s main entrance. Feel like the legendary empress, enjoying a three-course candlelight dinner. In summer – if the weather permits – your imperial dinner will be served outside on the restaurant´s comfortable garden terrace.
Beef broth with garnishes
Pork medaillons with prosciutto, served with polenta and vegetables
Dessert
Vegetarian? No problem! Vegetarian menues on request!
Beverages not included.
Concert
Let the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna take you on a trip into the very heart of the former imperial Vienna. The sound of Mozart and Strauss and marvellous solo singers and ballet dancers will give you a timeout from the modern world. Often used as a splendid setting for sumptuous festivities in the days of the Habsburgs, the Schoenbrunn Orangery – which is part of Schoenbrunn Palace and thus UNESCO world-cultural heritage site – is the perfect venue to bring out the best of Mozart´s and Strauss´ unique melodies. How often do you get the chance to enjoy such brilliant tunes in a truly original venue?
Note: In case of private functions in the Schoenbrunn Orangery, Schoenbrunn Palace Concerts will take place in the Great Gallery (Grosse Galerie) or the White-Gold Room (Weissgoldzimmer) inside Schoenbrunn Palace, at Schoenbrunn Palace Theatre or in other concert halls in Vienna.
... and here´s the complementary extra...
This package includes two one-way public-transport tickets per person, offering you an easy and convenient transfer from your hotel in Vienna to Schoenbrunn and back again. Each ticket is valid for one journey in Vienna, including transfers.
